Jiva bought this tree on my 60th and it was planted next to the caravan with the help of Afriqnmun, Nigel, Iris, Verity and Michal and
It's on an MM106 stock, the blurb says it will be about 3m after 10 years. Moved to new site in Dec 2016.
Pruning as per info.
Apple trees follow a three year fruiting cycle. The first year side shoots, laterals, will grow; fruit buds will form on these shoots in the second year and will fruit in the following year.
Allow the laterals to fruit and then cut them back to within an inch of the leader to encourage other laterals.
Cordon: Plant at 45° Cut back no more than a third to curtail side shoot overgrowth. Prune all side shoots, laterals, to 3" in July on which fruit buds will form in the coming winter. Trim back any extra spurs that grow on these laterals.
