Fiskars Lawn Mower
OK One arrived but the carrier wasn't Parcel Force proper and the ** wouldn't deliver closer than the top of the lane, some excuses which I may detail later. More important things to say.
First notable issue is that manual was in German. I've asked Fiskars to send me an English version.
Once put together, I noticed some bits of black stuff in the bottom of the box which turned out to be plastic.
It took a while to see where it had come from.
I'll try and glue the bits together whilst I await a response from the vendors.
Generally
Good:
It's heavier that I imagined, which is good in that it keeps it on the ground and doesn't lift when it cut tough grass etc. It's also 50% wider at 18" rather than the standard 12".
It moves easily, but is an effort when on the 2.5cm setting at it cuts deep when there is an uneven patch. Where there are highs the mower cuts the roots etc. Grass is also thrown forward so it piles on to the ground in front of the blades.
Not so good:
Surprised there was no cuttings capture.
The fixed settings for height, apart from the options which I'm about to query: the a) the lowest setting is 2.5cm, could be lower and b) the gap to the next is too big, but the height of each setting isn't stated.
Must try and measure the heights available.
