This is a new job. Whereas for many years trespassed in to the northern edges to limit Himalayan balsam invasion, on Monday 24th June I spoke to Dave and he said it was fine to go in and clear them all.

Diary for 2025

  • May 14th: Just spoke to Dave and emailed him and Valerie to see if they can set up some volunteer clearing job
  • May 22nd: Ongoing emails with Valerie and two 'associates' (Peter Gadd and Peter Thompson) who are showing some interest in removing some from Trekensa Gardens and are in touch with Dave by email, at least Dave has been contacted but I see no response from Dave yet
  • May 22nd: Walked the edges of TG[F] | TG[G] | TG[B] Dave seems to have cleared a track aligned to the one shown in the image above, though that is from maybe 4 or 5 years ago. There were some small HB but nothing obvious. I'm hoping the dry weather has curtailed their ability to grow, supported by the fact that on my side, in the marshy wet area, in just passing across a strip I pulled 28 obvious plants
  • June 20th: Just spent an hour with the Pete and Pete showing access and looking at the Sites
  • July 4th: An hour using GM on area [G]
  • August 6th: 111 TG[F] Adjacent S3[D]
  • August 8th: 78 TG[F] Adjacent S3[D]
  • August 21st: 140 TG[F] and 48 TG[G]
  • August 23rd: 300 TG[G]
  • September 12th: 48 TG[F]

  • August 2nd: Mostly a walk about with Dave King to assess the growth in Trekensa Gardens
  • August 1st: 111 @ [TG-F]
  • July 31st: 80 @ [TG-F]
  • July 6th: Pulled some but did a swathe in [TG-N] and an areas in [TG-B] and [TG-G] with the brushcutter
  • July 4th: 5 @ [TG-N] 5 @ [TG-F]
  • July 2nd: 138 @ [TG-N] From Trekensa. I was bit taken aback when I saw how many there are, probably tens of thousands and may want to us the brushcutter to clear a substantial area.
