Infusions:

Tea is commonly used to denote an infusion ofCamellia_sinensis leaves and buds.

Herbal tea is the infusion of various single or mixed vegetation, usually of leaves or flowers, as in Camomile tea (flowers) or Mint tea (leaves)

Other parts of plants are used and the seeds ofCleaversare used as they apparently contain caffeine. On this note Hops and Marijuana are used for calming desires, I'll not avoid cocaine as a topic as used for stimulation, but what is legal and of some interest.

Poppies generally have a range of ingredients to react to. The concentration of the sap, rough opium, is illegal in the UK and many places, but unlike 'magic mushrooms' dried poppy straw is not prohibited. Strange as poppy straw has been used for it's clear calming properties in Asia for millennia.

Poppy straw 'tea' like the general raw poppy products is very bitter, so there has to a reason to drink such a tea.

It is well known that poppy seeds are eaten and there are reports of death by someone trying to get 'high' from eating maybe 250g of seeds.

So to the flowers. I have just collected some pink poppy petals and rose petals. I intend to dry them and use them together one day as a 'tea'. The rose may add a little aroma whilst the poppy will add a little oriental mystery. After all it is the mind that investigates what is acceptable and entertaining.

I have already added poppy petals to 'common' tea to see if there was a flavour, aroma but sadly not enough to be sure.

Of course there is the possibility that there is a small amount of opioids in the petals but any indication of that would be noticed via a tend to constipation.
