  • August 13th 2 Offspring from the main block,
I've marked the location with an ash post just off the bund towards it. I tried digging as I imagine the roots may be young and not very deep, but didn't get any rhizome just young white bits of root! oops!

  • August 12th 1 Very small
  • August 9th 3 Very small
  • August 5th 4 Very small
  • July 24th 39 Very small
  • July 22nd 11 The area is almost unrecognisable due to fallen trees and erosion of the bund. There is also a drying of the adjacent drain, probably due to water draining quicker throughthe breach further north:a consequence being that the drying of adjacent soil will allow the Japanese Knotweed to spread. Until now the flooded drain has been a barrier stopping the weed from moving inland.
  • July 4th Area 3: 4off: The first offspring from the main block,
Given the amount of damage to that area of bund it is not surprising, and given their size, I am hoping this is the first year of their expansion, so will keep a regular lookout.
