2025 Some years since the Victoria plum was bought by a third party though never very healthy, it has grown in stature. This year (2020) has at least seen a few kilos of plums. Apart from the expected bird pecking, which damages unripe fruit, ripe fruit is the target of wasps. If that was not enough then some, fruit that is picked early and left to ripen, have insect eggs and or maggots in them. Sadly this is often only noticed if a fruit is cut open: eating it by hand the infestation may not be noticed.
