Pruning Fruit Trees 20~21

Pruning has not been a habit or love of mine but after a decade of generally leaving growth alone I am undertaking some serious cutback. There are a few reasons:

  1. To lower the height of the trees, to help picking and 2 below
  2. To round the top so I can thrown a net over to keep birds off
  3. To allow better air flow, as being by the river means there is a lot of damp air encouraging all kinds of fungi and rot.
