Broad beans ~ Diary

June 3rd: I podded 200g of beans from <700g of pods, some 29% to use for food.
June 9th: I podded 230g of beans leaving ≈ 500g of empty pods, some 32% .
June 11th: I podded 800g of beans leaving getting some 230g of beans, some 29%

First sowing:

• October 13th 2024: Soaking 60
• October 15th 2024: Some 45% sprouting. · 27/60
• October 16th 2024: · 51/60
• October 17th 2024: · 60/60 only 4 of the final 9 had sprouted
• October 25th 2024: The first 40/60 are all but 1 are high and under jars. '

  

• October 30th 2024: Of the remaining 20 2 are missing � and the rest are ' So 57 of the 60 are fine ✅
• November 19th 2024: Eventually 59 of the 60 are fine ✅
• December 13th 2024: Been away for two weeks and the tops have been eaten �
• December 13th 2024: Been away for two weeks and 10 of the 11 extras '

Second sowing:

• November 15th 2024: Soaked another 46
• November 17th 2024: Of the 46 soaked 36 were sown in a second bed and the remaining 10 were added to the October plot, bringing it's total to 69
  Note none of these 46 have sprouted. ·
• December 13th 2024: Been away for two weeks 34 plus 9 of 46 '
• December 26th 2024: 36 plus 10 of 46 🌱 ✅
• December 30th 2024: Posts around the 36, string to do . . .

Third sowing:

• March 13th 2025: 78 ·
• April 5th 2025: 69 of 78 �
• April 7th 2025: Soaking another 9
• April 9th 2025: Recount : 64 of 78 '
