iChoc Classic Helle Rice

Just bought a box from Essential and discovered to my dismay that it is very dark, not at all as previous batches. Have sent following message via ichoc.de/en/contact/

Just bought a box of the Classic Helle Rice and it is very dark and very disappointing.
I could complain to my supplier Essential of Bristol, but they would not be able to resolve the problem.

Batch No. 12.2020 L29264 b

bar code 4 044889 002966

Thank you for your rather weird reply

a) We checked your complaint with our quality department. The response for this batch was: That it was ok.

I wonder what this check consisted of and yes the chocolate was edible and fine in that sense but if your quality dept. couldn't see a problem then you have a problem with your quality dept, so why I would buy your products again?

b) But of course cocoa is a natural product and therefore there might be differences in appearance colour and taste, thought we do our best to keep a certain taste profile.

All the other ingredients natural?? but I would have thought this was more to do with the mix ratio which clearly effects the taste OH! I see? I didn't explain clearly enough that the darkness and taste were so unacceptable that I wouldn't offer it to anyone to eat as the product they were used to. And the idea you try your best is of no use. I bet Cadbury's would say that.

c) If you have any suggestions what to do, would be much appreciated.

Try and get hold of some of the batch and see what you think, if you ever eat this stuff yourselves and could compare.

Pay your quality dept. more money so they are inclined to do a better job or get new people who want to make a good impression. Your answers seem rather slack and feeble.

I didn't know the connection with Vivani, which adds a different and fuzzy light on your brand, so not a Vegan business, just a fashion brand.

But most telling is that you ask for my suggestions what to do! Outrageous! with all tools at your disposal and you can't work that out for yourselves. Insulting to say the least.

I don't use social media so this conversation will not be picked up quickly but I will copy it to Essential of Bristol.

Thanks but no thanks I'll try and keep away from your brand after this pathetic response.

I will not be disappointed or surprised if you don't answer this email.

Goodbye iChoc
