ELF Trust, Harewood, Calstock
With an increasing awareness of the need for bio-diversity, we are encouraged to live and work more ecologically, in order to secure the existence of as varied a fauna and flora conducive to the indigenous population. Consequently those persons named below are setting up a charitable trust so that all forms of life may benefit from a more efficient lifestyle.
Aiming to avoid the continuing deformation, degradation and dehumanisation undertaken in the
- domestication and abuse of animals, the
- application of chemical herbicides and insecticides etc, and
- the introduction of unsuitably tested genetically engineered bio-forms
We shall direct our resources to increasingly ecological methods to satisfy energy and material needs; for example in the:
a) growing of crops for food and fuel;
b) development of more efficient shelter and accommodation;
c) reuse and recycling of produce, (to replace disposal);
d) methods and needs of transportation, (primarily by reduction)
e)use and production of Electricity, by reduction and alternative generation.
f) fields of education and social conscience, by self-awareness rather that teaching.
g)quality and level of communications, using hi-tech low-impact systems and making all information widely available and gratis.The trust was originally agreed at a meeting in Totnes under the guise of an eco-village meeting on 21st September, 1992. As a charitable gesture, equity was provided through the purchase of land in June 1993 by the following persons;
Michal Lovejoy of: Glynn House, Rose Hill, Calstock, Cornwall, PL18 9QY Roger Lovejoy of: ELF, Harewood, Calstock, Cornwall, PL18 9SQ Vera Henderson of: 5, Rowse Gardens, Calstock, Cornwall, PL18 9RW Wally Henderson Assets to date (7th September, 2002) is as follows;
- The land mentioned above purchased is registered with Plymouth Land Registry under titles
( CL 89161, CL 89612, ) situate at Harewood, Calstock, Cornwall.- On 23rd January, 1996 an adjoining parcel of land (CL 112991) was purchased and incorporated in the Elf Trust by Stephen Morris and Roger Lovejoy. Steve named it the Riverland Trust to differentiate it from the previous purchase and to enable a slight modification to the management, although it is a part ofthe Elf Trust and is included in an overall landscaping plan.
- On 31st October, 1994, Brigitte Refour, deposited £1000 in the ELF Trust account to purchase more land.
On ???? 2004 all trustees agreed that the money should be returned to Brigitte with its accrued interest, as for ten years she had not made any attempts to purchase land. However there is an ongoing issue with this and the matter may be resolved or forgotten. Details of the issue may be posted once the trustees can clarify their ideas.- Sometime (around 1994) Hellen B, of Dundonald Street gave £20 towards land.
The Proprietors of the above titles hold the land for the above mentioned aims and have thereby rendered the Land Registration Certificates with appropriate RESRICTIONS as defined in the following example for
