Comments

The poor soil shows slightly lower levels of potassium and magnesium, but it is unlikely that these would be responsible for the poor growth. I suggest you lime the field using magnesium limestone as this will help to boost the magnesium level in the soil.

The rest of the soil analyses are similar for both the good and poor sample.

The zinc concentrations are within the normal range for agricultural soils (20-210 mg/kg). The normal total arsenic concentration in soil ranges from 3-50 mg/kg. The poor soil shows some contamination, but it is below the accepted threshold of 250 mg/kg, where it starts to become phytotoxic. Increasing the soil pH to 6.5 will reduce arsenic svailability.
