Clear the bund, especially the north, before mid~May each year.

March 18th The orange plastic latch on the harness snapped off.
(Note the equivalent on the Makita)

Diary of Use

May 5th Cleared across the north marsh and the bund from the far north to the breach in [A2}. It was very difficult getting from marsh breach back up to the bund of [A2} so an alternative route is being considered.
June 13thApart from spilling petrol buy not closing the tank, the blade wouldn't grip. I first thought the holding nut had come loose but the whole shaft seems displaced.
June 13th: First I will remove the gear head. That gave me an insight to the grease but was not really necessary to remove. See Comment 2 for the resolution.

June 18th: Cleared across the far field, south path with Stihl and blade.

June 13th: Call to dealer support. There are two screws that hold the clutch to the shaft.

There was one clamp not two screws that held the clutch housing extension to the aluminium shaft cover. It's this cover that 'holds' the gear head and clutch together. The clutch extension clamp was loose and the al cover had moved out some 25mm. (Was this a consequence of lying in the sun and metal expansion and contraction )

Again the video was a bit off: At 37 seconds there appears to be an attempt to remove a screw that does not exist.

The basics are that the housing is held to the al shaft cover, so once the shaft cover is back fully in gear housing extension and clamped the housing and front part of that are pushed down and the housing clamp is then tightened to the shaft cover.

All reassembled and now to see if it works. 10:20 ✅
