The Eastern Area

This is the plan for some eastern area of ELF comprising some 3.6 acres.

A note on acreage.

Title map use very old data for field areas and often it is not very accurate. In the past measurements were taken on the ground, so if there is a 10° slope in one direction then the area by satellite would be a bit smaller. An acre of ground measurement with a 30° slope in one direction would, by satellite, be 0.87 acre.

An area may be held under a trust managed by Gavin Randle, for his daughter Elah.

The general landscape will align with the original ELF landscape.

The Land

.78 acre per person with the current UK population and land area.
With ⅔ for wildlife there would be a max of 4 × .26 acres for cultivation i.e. 1.04 acres or 0.41 hectares ~ some 41 squares on the following map. Suggested areas for orchard and annual crops high;lighted with orange dots.

Before any transfer, the trust has to be clarified on behalf of Elah, and be held, initially, I would imagine by Gavin. The area of burials is not to be modified without the agreement of all Interested parties.

A charge will be entered on the title regarding future options for proprietorship and boundary status.

Regarding the boundary I propose a few pine trees to define the lines at maybe 32m or 45m spacing with hawthorn, quince and blackthorn hedgerows between.

The pine trees may be planted on the boundary line yet will grow into both properties. The centre of the trees will define the boundary but a space of some 4.5m to 6m will be kept wild either side to allow for falling branches and both sides will hence have a substantial barrier.
