I am def crazy and weird but not a nut. The worry is, Am I invasive?

This is an update on a conversation about a plant I consider invasive that I allowed to be dumped in the triangle field some 14/15 years ago.

It was waste from what was then Helen and Gavin's residence in Rowse Gardens.

Early on I could see how virile it was and had to cut it down as other vegetation decayed. What I was unaware of was it's underground root system. So although I regularly mow the land in it's area, the virle rooting undermines my attempts to curtail it.

The recent discussion was that Gavin thought the young shoots were hazel - Gavin's last words on the subject - so today I thought I would try and clarify the issue.

I dug up a couple of young hazel, and as you may imagine they have a single tap root that comes form the nut: Image below shows to of different age

The other plant show how each piece is broken off a larger root. Hazel do not propagate this way.

What is noticeable is the similarity of the leaves when they are small, but hazel leaves broaden as they
