Crops :: 2020Updated: April 29th, 2020
Created: March 4th, 2020I feel the need to highligh activities due to a significant change.
I had already, three years ago, bought wire netting to keep deer at bay, but 2019 brought the rabbit into view, so I have made a rabbit exclusion area. In this area I have three beds. The northern one has three rows of broad beans south of which are, in order of rows [ i) purple sprouting broccoli, ii) leaf beat and beetroot, iii) spinach and iv) kale]
The abovementioned uses some 69% of the length of the bed, the remaining being used or peas that will be sown at intervals.
13th March : I have since transplanted a few greens, mostly chard, between the rows mentioned and the peas.
25th April : No kale
27th April : Transplanted some (10) random self seeded kale.
28th April :
Transplanted tray of maize and a gutter of leeks.
Sown Berlotti, White and Brown Speckled runner beans
29th April : Transplanted tray of maize and a gutter of leeks.
