As Food

24th Dec 2024 Just about to cook some acorns. They have been left in a jar of water for over a month, having the water changed every week. They don't seem bitter. I only have about 80g after soaking so will cook them in a few days, probably.

Weight around 80g — Dec 21st: Dried weight around 40g

Dreid weight around 40g — Dec 30th: Cooked weight around100g

There was little flavour, definitely not something to look forward to. So I cooked them with 100g of dried beans in a tomato soup.
