Contract to do NothingUpdated: September 1st, 2013
Created: August 23rd, 2013Focus on the impossible, do nothing.
It's all about cruelty. It is cruel to impact upon another and the environment in general but as I dwell in this environment it would be cruel to make myself uncomfortable and my resource hungry body does crave to consume. Keeping warm and feeding myself and there's everything else.
By growing my food manually, no mined minerals, no factory engineered chemicals no animal by products my impact on the environment can decrease, as long as I don't compensate via developing another resource for entertainment.
Manual work also has the benefit of keeping me warm but unless I can work without eating more then I will have to work even harder. There is an optimum level of work that I am inclined to find, the more I Iook the more I find and the more I question my abilities. There the old idea that a person who chops his own wood keeps himself warm just doing the work, but the person does need to be happy.
Doing less to the environment means doing more myself. This is the meaning of caring, that developed the notion the cruelty in me.
There are two prongs to my fork, one where I try and do away with everything else and the other where I keep warm and grow my found making as small an impact on the environment as possible.
So if you would like to use an acre or so to practice doing nothing send me an example of how you intend to play this out and maybe we can agree contract do work at it.
To start with there's a lot to do, far to much to be human. Just getting here, by train or car require a huge imapct upon the environment, then there the track to traverse that others have and still do, work on to enable traffic. Then there's the gate, the gate to nowhere. Then some plot plant your seed and a bed for you to watch over them.
It' s all in the beginning, the journey never really gets going. The only reasonable measure is happiness and I am not happy in my cruelty and work to wean myself of the addiction of consuming finite resources. Their destruction being a sign of my desire to do something and just about anything. Let's not beat around the bush this is a killing spree no living.
