Moving the greenhouse, largely due to size of fig tree inside. The foundations are also failing and the twisting of the frame has damaged some glass. Further the ground below is full of large debris and plastic where rats etc. make a home and then pop up in the greenhouse.

2024 : January 23rd

1. Guttering was not functioning in low drip mode, so have bent a small lip to ensure the odd drip does not run back under the guttering due to water surface tension
2. Door draft excluder fitted: Use some old excluder from a sliding double glazing window. Fluffy edge fitted to an aluminium strip. The strip had two parallel edges, one of which I crimped at 4" intervals so it would jam in the channel designed for the 'proper' excluder.
3. Platform for washing: A couple of bricks set in the soil with a small wooden 'thing' 'platform' to stand on ✘ Poor position as there is not enough head room, so moving . . .

2024 : January 11th

Have removed glass, however I broke at least 6 panes, 2 irretrievably, subsequently moved the frame to the new location without dismantling it.

January 12th

Fastened frame to wood base with aluminium nails, bent heads to allow for removal and fastened wooden base to blocks with two fastenings, diagonally. ~

January 13th ~19th

13th: Glass fitted to south facing roof and wall ~ 14th: Set 6 panes, some ⅓ ,glass in the west facing side, sorted the sliding door and 'lifted 'a couple of supporting slabs. 15th: Completed west face, so half glazed now, and worked on 'door step' ~ 16th: Glazed the north facing roof ~ 17th bought more glazing clips from Tavy (3 x 20 for £9 ???) ~ 18th: More glazing ~ 19th: Added guttering to drain to pond.

Felled dying ash that leant over the track towards the new greenhouse location, so OK to relocate. Also have 150ft of new butyl putty.

2023 : October

12th October Prepared four 2x2 bearers to lay on bricks so adjustments to levelling can more easily be made. October 15th ~ 30th 15th: More levelling; 21st: ~ 29thWork on more levelling and laying corner blocks to get some stable start. ~ 30th: Finished laying blocks and will let them settle for a couple of months of rain etc.

2023 November

November 24th Given a few days of dry weather I've levelled two sides of the foundation blocks and will hopefully finish tomorrow.
