Sure I didn't have to give him or her a name.

I found 'my' first hedgehog on the land around midnight 27/28th June. He was just down from triangle field entrance, sat in the right-hand tyre track as you descend the path.

Worried that someone in a late travelling vehicle could do a number on it, I carried it down to my compost heap. I'm a bit concerned that I took it some 100 yards from its 'home' but I was a bit excited which played into my possessive nature.

So I have a hedgehog; how cool is that?
