A Careful ContractUpdated: July 6th, 2021
Created: July 4th, 2021Although established during this recent pandemic I am applying a general regime.
History
- I haven't had a vaccination nor have I worn a mask.
- I have been able to restrict myself to the land for some year and a half with only bi-monthly trips to get food.
- People have visited and I haven't been worried about contact.
Considerations Without vaccinations I may get a more serious illness than with, however as a consequence of my isolation I am a) extremely unlikely to catch it and b) unlikely to pass it on if I do.
Having embraced this extra isolation I have no intention of giving it up; so ~ once the restrictions on travel and contact have been officially quashed whence people will undoubtedly indulge in more intimate co-operative consumerism I will apply myself to the following regime.
The Regime
- I will not encourage visitors if there has been one within the previous ten days.
- I will discourage visitors for ten days prior to dates I plan to visit someone
- I will inform any potential visitors whether I have had any contact in the preceding ten days.
An example is that as now I am prepared to travel by public transport without a mask I will visit, and go shopping. Where an intimate visit is planned I will ensure I have isolated for 10 days.
Although I will be exposed to catching a virus on public transport and whilst shopping, I assess, that any virus will not have established itself well enough within two days for me to be a spreader. (precautions will be taken). After each outing, of a maximum of two days, I will isolate for ten days to assess my condition.
"Another study, which looked at 77 pairs of individuals in which one person infected the other, found that contagiousness both began and peaked before the first symptoms of illness — 2.3 days and 0.7 days respectively.

How soon after I'm infected with the new coronavirus will I start to be contagious?
The time from exposure to symptom onset (known as the incubation period) is thought to be two to 14 days, though symptoms typically appear within four or five days after exposure.
We know that a person with COVID-19 may be contagious 48 hours before starting to experience symptoms. People may actually be most likely to spread the virus to others during the 48 hours before they start to experience symptoms.

Addendum
I have generally considered most peoples attitude towards spreading this latest virus lacking social consideration. So whereas I was tolerant of such lack, as I would not be a party to being a potential spreader through social interaction, now mandatory restrictions have been lifted (July 19th) and I feel obliged to interact, I also feel it incumbent to up the anti with more seriously considered interactions with the self proclaimed 'homo sapiens'
