This brick stove is an attempt to have a burner that uses less wood for boiling water and cooking. Secondly it can be used outside when the warm weather makes it undesirable to use the wood burners in the caravan or workshop.

I am not impressed with my first attempt and wonder if a) to much air is entering and so there is not a strong enough up-draft or b) the flue could be shorter allowing the pan to be closer to the flames or c) that the wood I use just needs to be drier.

So not quite the emulation of the rocket stove I was trying to achieve.
