Trees Behind Caravan 2021

December 17th, 2020

6th Feb: remove last part of overhanging ash

31st Jan: Cut 2m of stump

29th Jan Another 2m+ removed from overhanging topped bole in the centre of the image below.

On the image below you can see the stick of ash protruding over the track. I used 7m of ladder resting on the wall. I was standing on the top of the ladder so some 10m head height but I used a climbing harness to hold me to the tree. It's the first time I've used the harness and it makes a lot of difference. 1 I felt safe for the first time for the best part of a decade or more and 2 it gave me more options to position myself :)

13th Jan: 5m of overhanging ash topped

7th, 8th, 9th & 10th Jan
Cut a large pieces of ash, hazel and hornbeam.

Jan 10th: Bole of hornbeam cut from hedge

Overall view of area behind caravan and workshop: Jan 7th

4th Jan 2021
Roped top of next ash to be topped to another tree to help guide it's fall.
Top of ash roped to help felling direction

31st Dec
Cut a single main branch that would become the bole of a previously felled main trunk of ash.

17th Dec
Cut a few branches of a hornbeam overhanging the entrance to the field.

16th Dec
Cut small ash to make room for next to the west.

Felling Sycamore 2 : 2020

July 24th, 2020

Sadly I didn't keep previous images or take any of the four sycamore adjacent the King's house. This felling is a continuation ofwork by Trekensa Gardens House

July 23rd Early morning I spoke to Dave King with consideration as to which of two overhanging vegetation he would prefer removed, some ten metre mass of overhang or a bunch of 4 very tall sycamore. Dave said he didn't mind but he thought his mum, Sylvia would prefer to see the tall sycamore removed as they blocked light to her bedroom. So that was it.

As Gavin was here and showed interest in felling trees we set about the job. Dave King invited me to use a 4m extension ladder, which I subsequently damaged. Whist I climbed trees and removed the lower branches as I went Gavin pulled them to the side. It was during this lopping that I allowed two logs to fall on the ladder, denting two rungs. I have worked out most of the denting ladder but will get somthig for Dave to take the bad taste away.

Trees by Trekensa Gardens

August 20th, 2020

The major concerns are the large trees in the hedge to the north of the house and the oak to the west. Although I have done work around the house before, this year 2020 I have removed a substantial amount of trees.

See.
